Toyota Gathering Foot

The Toyota Gathering Foot is suitable for gathering lightweight fabrics.

It feeds the fabric unevenly during sewing, giving it its characteristic gathering. With the special notch in the gathering foot, the pleated material can be sewn directly to a smooth piece of fabric in a single operation. To do this, the smooth material is pushed into the notch and not gathered.

How it works
1. Set theToyota sewing machine for straight stitch with the needle in the far left position if possible.
2. Place the fabric to be gathered under the presser foot with the raw edge slightly protruding to the right side of the presser foot.
place the fabric not to be gathered all the way into the groove of the foot.
Place the fabric pieces right side together.
3. Guide the fabric and make sure the Toyota sewing machine can pull the bottom fabric layer freely for even gathering

Changing the stitch length changes the degree of gathering. A single fabric layer can also be gathered by placing it under the foot and adjusting the stitch length and tension to the degree of gathering.
