Bernina Zipper foot 54 with sliding sole

Thanks to its special sole with anti-stick coating, the Bernina Zipper Foot 54 with Glide sole is particularly suitable for sewing on zippers on non-slip materials such as leather or plastic.
Like Zipper foot 14 / 14D, Zipper foot 54 with sliding sole features an adjustable guide on the top of the foot. This makes it possible to achieve precisely even parallel seams when topstitching edges or sewing on piping.

Stitch selection: straight stitch
Stitch width: 0
Stitch length: 2-3
Needle position: right/left
Conveyor: sew
' Thread the zipper in the right place.
' Put the needle in the left position.
' Always start sewing at the bottom of the zipper.
' Sew approximately 5 cm, leaving the needle in the fabric.
' Raise the presser foot.
' Slide the tab of the zipper behind the presser foot.
' Lower the presser foot and continue sewing the first side.
' Now move the needle to the right position and continue sewing in the same way as for the first side.
