Description of the Bernina/Juki upper looper cover
Using the Bernina and Juki upper looper cover , overlocking with only 2 threads is possible. In this way, you can, for example, finish individual layers of fabric or sew decorative rolled hems with the matching fabrics and also save thread.
2-thread overlock stitches are threaded just like 3/4-thread overlock stitches. Only the lower looper thread (blue) does not need to be threaded. Instead of this thread, the upper-looper cover is attached.
When the upper looper cover is attached, it is possible to sew with one looper thread, e.g. a 2-thread rolled hem, 2-thread flat seam and overlock.
1) Turn the handwheel to set the needles to the lowest position.
2) Turn off machine, main switch to "0".
3) Open looper cover.
4) Place upper looper cover (accessory in looper cover) on upper looper arm (A).
5) The metal tab of the upper looper cover should lock onto the pin of the upper looper.
6) Insert the hook from behind into the eye of the upper looper.
7) In this way, the upper looper becomes a blind looper, i.e. it does not guide yarn, but turns the lower looper thread so that it falls around the entire fabric edge.
