Top 10 most sold sewing machine feet

Are you looking for a sewing machine foot, but don't know which one you find useful or should buy? Many have gone before you. Here you will find our 10 most sold sewing machine feet.

1. Blind zipper foot

A blind zipper foot makes sewing an invisible zipper much easier than using a standard zipper foot. The blind zipper foot has small grooves at the bottom that unroll the zipper for you, allowing you to sew right next to the zipper.

2. Interchangeable feed foot

The Dual Feed Foot is especially useful when working with multiple layers or stretchy fabric. When using a standard sewing machine foot, the feed dog can slide the bottom layer of fabric away with the top layer of fabric, causing the fabric to shift. The Dual Feed Foot guides the fabric through at the same speed so the fabric does not shift.

3. Teflon foot

A Teflon foot is ideal for fabrics such as vinyl, leather, plastic, foil and suede, which are very difficult to work with with a standard presser foot. You will find that this material constantly sticks to the foot, creating messy and irregular stitches. A Teflon foot solves all these woes and helps the fabrics glide well under the foot.

4. Gathering foot

You can create the most beautiful gathering yourself with a gathering foot. Simply place your fabric under the foot, adjust the stitch length to create the ripples of fabric you need. This does work best with thinner and non-stretch fabrics.

5. Free motion foot

Free motion feet can be used for free motion quilting or embroidery and are sometimes called a darning or quilting foot. These feet are a lot of fun and let you be very creative in your sewing. You can sew in all directions with these feet and draw with the thread on your fabrics.

6. 1/4 inch foot

The ¼ inch foot is designed to help you make a seam of exactly 1/4" (6 mm) or a tight seam of 5.9 mm in patchwork. The opening for the needle in the foot is oval so you can adjust the needle position and place stitches exactly where you want them on your blocks, garments or home decor projects.

7. Appliqué foot

An appliqué foot is often shorter than most presser feet, making it easier to maneuver around curves and corners. The front of the appliqué foot puts a little more pressure on the fabric to maintain the required pressure, but the back of the foot is raised for easy feeding of stitches and fabric.

8. Bias tape foot

A bias tape foot is designed to help you quickly and easily attach bias tape to your garment or project. The bias tape foot has a guide on the front of the foot to feed the bias tape through. It may be convenient to cut the end of the bias tape diagonally and use a pin or tweezers to pull it through.

9. Roller foot

A roller foot has rollers on the underside of the foot to allow fabrics with uneven levels such as leather, velvet and, for example, tablecloth to slide easily under the foot. You can usually use straight stitches, zig-zag stitches, standard forward motion stitches and decorative stitches with this foot.

10. Overlock foot

These feet are designed to finish the raw edge of fabric with your sewing machine in the same way as an overlock machine. There is a bar in the center of the foot that wraps thread around the edge of the fabric for a neat finish and to prevent fraying.
